The reason for this was because of the 'statistics' table in out mysql. My cron script that was supposto clean up that table stopped working due to server changes. Basically what ended up happening was that my table was causing the server load to go up to 100%, when the table was removed it came down to 2%. Big change eh?

Anyway the kind folks at Dreamhost have backed up this table for me and removed it. They only did what they had to do. First you are going to want to add the code below to a new line in your .htaccess

Also do not forget to change [Website Plugin Name] and [Plugin Description] to your correct information.

Next you will want to add the following inside your head tags. This code includes the javascript file that we just have created into the page. The code below the JS include gets the root or in simple terms the website url. Just change http://totaldream.com/ to your website, there is an more 'correct' way to do it but it does not matter right now.

Wow, I have seen much more repeat traffic through the last few weeks. Almost 10x the unique traffic. ex. 80 Unique hits, 780 hits.

We had a minor problem with the recipe and quote system two days ago, they have been fixed. They were only down for 5 minutes! I have fixed some minor problems with the website and IE. The transparency problem with the menu listing has been fixed.

I have a new section that will be open to the public within a few weeks. Right now we are doing some prep work if you want to call it that. I can't go into any detail, but I can say that it will be something to bookmark.

Also, I have noticed many of visitors have been hitting the error page very frequently. Why may that be? Google need an index refresh for TD? Are they bookmarks from an earlier time? Have we become immune to the lure of Adsense? Some webmaster say yes, others claim that they are still earning well using Google’s system. It all boils down to how you use this tool.

Making Adsense blend into your page is supposed to be the best way to earn with it, but now webmasters are discovering that this might not be ideal. People are accustomed to clicking on electric blue links. We all do it and now that everyone is so web-savvy, they automatically look for blue links. So if your webpage features pink or green links, you should consider keeping Adsense links blue. The rest of the ad can match your theme, just make sure that people realize the links are clickable.

Placing ads where they can’t be missed is another technique that is not always used to the best effect. For example, an Adsense banner at the top of your page might make sense since it is the first thing people see, but you also have to take into account how jaded folks are. It determines where you rank on the search engine pages for your keywords and can be absolutely vital in getting that coveted number one space on Google! While other factors are included in the equation, link popularity definitely figures high on the list and you should do your best to increase your incoming link as much as possible.

First of all, if you just want to check and see how many other ranked sites are linked to you on any particular search engine, you can simply enter “link:” (minus quotation marks) followed by the URL of your website and hit Enter. This will quickly turn up a basic link popularity count for you and is a good indication of the number of links you have from other areas.
