Fruity Loops 6 Tutorial:

Now to be a master of Fruity Loops, you don't need to be a rocket scientist or a brain sergant you just need to know the proper way to use the program, first we will start off with the basics. When you first open the program for hte first time, you will see some song demo left there for you, ignore it and click File > New, this will give you

You will see the 4 grey bars followed by 4 red bars, etc.... now you can enter a beat by clicking on different boxes on different sounds like this, tehn click play

Now you should, if you are creating a basic beat for the backround, have something that has the sound that you would like, i suggest trial and error untill you feel that its totally pimpin =) Now that you have a beat, open teh playlist

That will be your Pattern 1, now you can click on Pattern 2, or other pattern #'s. You will now notice that you have no white boxes that have been selected, that is because patterns are basically what layers are to Photo Shop, one gets played wiht the others. Now you can select the Paintbrush tool and drag it across the layer where you have made a beat, like this

Now that you have mastered the very basic skills required to make those head banging, rump rattlin' beats, we can move on to things a little more advanced...
On the left of your screen you will notice various folders in the Browser window

You want to click on packs and see what you've got, after clicking on a few and finding some you like, you can drag and drop them onto the pattern window underneath the four main sounds (you can also delete any by right clicking then selecting delete) but
i don't recommend it unless you have downloaded some sound packs

After exploring with some more beats and different patterns you can now see how your song sounds as a whole, you do this by clicking the "song" button which otherwise is on the "pattern" button as seen here

So now you should probably save your project to avoid exiting the program and smashing your head off the wall because all your hard work went to waste, you do this by clicking File > Save As

you decide whether or not to save it as an mp3 to put to your ipod or listen to
whenever, or you can save it as a .flp, i suggest doing both so you can always go back and change it when you get sick of it or find a major flaw, like it gets really really annoying after a while.

Soon you'll be on your way to be a world class DJ and make millions. ; )
