Getting Your New Website Popular
Everybody wants to have massive people coming to their new found website. But it isn't as easy as it may seem. Here's a few tips that might just help you with reaching your dream.
1. METATAGS
Metatags may not seem like much at first, but once you start using them and do some research into them, they can be very beneficial in the end.
First off take a look at the list and definitions located http://totaldream.org/tools/meta_tag_definitions_listing/ there.
Remember everything counts. Now you can use our metatag generator here. http://totaldream.org/tools/meta_tag_generator/.
But remember, when making a new website or template, you should/absolutely have metatags! It's the valid way! ![]()
2. PROMOTION
Yes, this is a duh for most people. But it can be more complicated as you can think. Now im not going to try and tell you to spam other websites with your website name and web link.
Im trying to say, where it is made possible post your link. (eg. guestbook, leave a nice message as well with your weblink - affiliation, try to affiliate with big popular websites, that will get you alot of hits but that is as long as you follow their affiliation rules)
Now you have an idea of how to promote your website, lets move on...
3. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO)
This is very finely debated by some webmasters within the web community. First thing is to submit your website with an inviting description of the website to as many search engines as you can.
Some websites have a 'multi-search engine submitter' but at many times those don't work and are just a thing to get unique hits.
Next thing to do is make all headings for your news and articles on your website, into Header 1 (H1) Header 2 (H2) ect... and also you should use your stylesheet instead of using all images for your website.
If you use your stylesheet instead of using all images on your website, it also decreases the load time of your website as well as makes it more valid which in turn makes it easier for the search engine 'bots' to crawl your website.
That's all for now, but I will add some more in the near future ![]()
